Kovan Superstar 2009 Public Auditions

Finalised Audition Schedule and Reporting Time will be announced on this blog on the 4 June 2009 (Thursday).

Audition Judges
2 Volunteers from Xtreme Youth Zone Inc.
2 Music Teachers from Music Mocha

Audition Format
"Sing Till The Bell Rings" format
(Judges will decide when to stop the singing by ringing the bell)

Selection Process
Flashing of Green or Orange cards by each Judge
Majority Green cards: Proceed directly into Semi-Finals
(If there are no more than 2 out of 4 Green cards, wait for further announcement)

Judging Criteria
1) Diction (咬字）：Articulation & accuracy of the lyrics 20%
2) Rhythm (节奏感）: Sense of rhythm & tempo 30%
3) Pitching （音准）: Accuracy of sining to desired pitch 30%
4) Voice Quality (音质）：Clarity & comfort of listening to the voice 20%

Announcement of Semi-finalists will be posted here within 1 week from the last audition date.

As the dateline 3 June 2009 draws near, more & more registrations are coming in...

XYZ's KSS09 registration booth will be opened 1 more day tm Sunday 31 May 2009 from 1-6pm to collect more entries and CD/MMO submission...

Submission of MMOs By 4 June

For submission of Karaoke CD/VCD/DVD for audition from 1 - 4 June 2009, pls do so at:

1) Heartland Mall Customer Service Counter (lv3)

2) Xtreme Youth Zone Inc. Office (In Paya Lebar Kovan CC)

For MMO files in MP3 or WMA format, u can send ur music files to www.pcs.xyz.inc@gmail.com

On all MMO or Karaoke CD/VCD/DVD, Pls clearly indicate ur name, song and track number...

Dateline is near...If u have not signed up yet, Hurry!!

Confirmation of Songs & Music Accompaniment

Dear participants,

Pls confirm the songs for audition and decide any music accompaniment before the above date.

Pls label ur MMOs disc with your Name, Song Name, Original Singer's Name...

For MMOs accompaniment, pls submit ur MMOs before the above date too. Submission of MMOs and change of songs after the above dates will not be entertained.

For Guitar accompaniment, guitar will not be provided. U have to bring ur own guitar.

Registration has kicked off...

For those who had registered, Pls let us know ur preferred audition time slots (Better to choose more than 1 slot if u can) by:

a) Visiting us, Xtreme Youth Zone Inc. (XYZ Inc.) at 207 Hougang Street 21 (Beside Paya Lebar Kovan CC)

b) Visiting our publicity booth in Heartland Mall

For those who have not registered, a new registration form is downloadable here in our blog (in previous posting)...with audition time slots added in...

We regret that we will not be able to guarantee that every participant will be able to get their preferred slots... We'll try to if not first come first serve...

Furthermore, for Sat slots, priority will be given to participants who are working and serving NS... All students will be allocated a weekday slots whenever possible...

Auditions Slots:

Mon - Fri (8 - 12 June) 12 - 2 pm, 2 - 4 pm, 4 - 6 pm

Sat (13 June) 12 - 2 pm, 2 - 4 pm, 4 - 6 pm
